Universities and employers are looking for more than just academic excellence.  At a time when many students leave school with good grades, what sets you apart from the crowd?

The Elizabethan has a proud tradition of offering a wide range of extra-curricular activities to its students, and these continue into the Sixth Form.

The Elizabethan is committed to offering top quality work experience placements and internships to all students in Year 12.  Experience shows that these often form the backbone of a successful university or apprenticeship application, and relevant work experience will open many doors to you.

Enrichment is another important element of Sixth Form provision, enabling you to develop skills and knowledge that are both useful to you and attractive to a future employer or university.  We are committed to offering a wide range of enrichment opportunities, including Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, Cadets, visit to Universities/Careers Fairs, access to world renowned external speakers or if you wish to have a voice in the direction of the Academy part of our student council.

Students sometimes feel the pressure of study at Key Stage 5 and as such we have a dedicated outstanding pastoral team ready and willing to listen should you need that little bit of support.  In order to help you develop as an individual we have specific personal development sessions where you get the chance to explore ideas and current affairs in more depth.

Here at The Elizabethan we have a select number of courses and you can choose from either A Levels or BTEC/Vocational qualifications or indeed a mixture of the two if you prefer.  If you are looking for an additional qualification in Year 12 you should also consider the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) which we also offer.

This is an exciting time for the Elizabethan as we continue on our journey.  Staff and students are working together to shape our new Sixth Form, its facilities and its opportunities.  We are justly proud that we can provide our sixth form students with Sixth Form only spaces in the form of a Sixth Form Common Room with outdoor courtyard and separate personal study facility.
