Universities and employers are looking for more than just academic excellence. At a time when many students leave school with good grades, what sets you apart from the crowd?
The Elizabethan has a proud tradition of offering a wide range of extra-curricular activities to its students, and these continue into the Sixth Form.
The Elizabethan is committed to offering top quality work experience placements and internships to all students in Year 12. Experience shows that these often form the backbone of a successful university application, and relevant work experience will open many doors to you.
Enrichment is another important element of Sixth Form provision, enabling you to develop skills and knowledge that are both useful to you and attractive to a future employer or university. We are committed to offering a wide range of enrichment opportunities, including Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
Students sometimes feel the pressure to study four A-Levels. Experience shows that this is rarely necessary: even the top universities only ever include three subjects in their offers. It will be possible to do four A-Levels, and we currently have students in Year 12 doing precisely that. However, if you are looking for an additional qualification in Year 12 you should also consider Core Maths or the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ).
This is an exciting time for the Elizabethan. Staff and students are working together to shape our future of our brand new Sixth Form, its facilities and its opportunities. We are justly proud that we can provide both a Sixth Form Common Room with outdoor courtyard and separate study facility for the exclusive use of Sixth Formers.
