The Elizabethan Academy is a successful 11-19 Academy. Students and staff benefit from excellent facilities on site. We are looking for an individual to share our commitment and determination to providing a learning environment that enables all young people to thrive. We have all-encompassing professional development with a structured path to enable career progression. This includes secondments at other schools in the East Midlands and staff coaching.

This post could suit an NQT as well as a more experienced applicant and will initially be recruited on a fixed term of 1 year. Full time options may be available but would involve work in other departments.

The successful candidate will join a hardworking, forward thinking and supportive department at an exciting time.  We have excellent CPL opportunities and are part of the Redhill Teaching Alliance. We work closely with our feeder primary schools and the successful candidate will have scope for working across the phase.

Teaching Assistant / Cover Supervisor

NJC Grade 4 (point 19-23) – £19,446-£21,693 pro rata

1st November 2018

Full Time (32.5hrs per week) / Term Time Only

The Elizabethan Academy are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic Cover Supervisor / Teaching Assistant. The role provides both classroom supervision for pupils where teacher colleagues are absent from duty as well as classroom learning support and some administration across the Academy.

We require a confident person who can relate well to students and is committed to supporting teaching and learning. Previous classroom experience is preferred but not essential. This post could suit a range of applicants from a graduate considering moving on to their PGCE or a former teacher considering a return to the profession.

The post will initially be recruited for a fixed term of one year.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Motivation and flexibility to work across departments and have a real passion for working with young adults at secondary school age.
  • Behaviour Management skills.
  • Effective organisation and communication skills .
  • Will have good communication skills with the ability to work on your own initiative, but also be able to work flexibly as part of a team.
  • The ability to act as a positive role model and set high standards.
