The Art Department and Key Stage 4 students, Emma Clarke, Leah Freeman, Emily Holloway and Megan Dale, would like to thank all the Year 7 and 8 students and parents/grandparents and carers who entered artwork into the Elizabethan Open Exhibition. The standard was very high and we thoroughly enjoyed looking through the work although judging was another story! There are so many worthy winners it made the process very difficult.
Finally, we did come to a decision and have a winner in the adult section – Margaret Lewis (Grandmother of Cavan Aulton in Yr 7) won with her exceptional painting, Abstract landscape. The Student winner isChloeLakein Yr 8 with her striking painting called ‘Lady in Red’. There is also a runner-up entry in the student section which we felt deserved a prize – this belongs to Abigail Robinson and Elizabeth English in Year 8 who created a mixed media picture called ‘RainbowTown’.
The Exhibition will be on view before the start of the Christmas concert this Wednesday night (14thDec) at the front of the Hall, so if you’re joining us come a little early to give yourself time to have a good look. Prizes for the winners will be presented at the end of the concert. Winners are allowed free entry into the concert.
