Forensic Science Day

On Wednesday 18th April, 136, Year 5 and Year 6 students visited the Elizabethan Academy for an action packed forensic science day.

The event, led by Pulse SCI demonstrated to the students the techniques used by the police in obtaining evidence to solve crimes. In the afternoon students had to identify a “murderer” from a list of suspects, using fingerprinting, hair analysis and ultra violet techniques. To stop contamination of the crime scene, students had to wear full CSI protective clothing, quite an experience! There are three more forensic science days planned this term for students whose schools did not attend this session.
