Emma is going from strength to strength, not only with her collection of medals and trophies, many of which are silver and gold, she is also breaking her own records for Shot and Discus at nearly every event she participates in. She took the silver medal for shot putt at the English Schools Competition in Glasgow earlier this year, throwing a personal best in the process.
With her recent win safely under her belt, Emma has now gone on to win the Gold medal in the same event at the Sainsbury’s School Games in Manchester, against tough competition from England, Scotland and Ireland..
“Emma is a very quiet and unassuming girl with an amazing athletic talent in her field. She continues to amaze and astound us all at The Elizabethan and we are all proud of what she has achieved” stated Matthew Bright, Faculty Leader for PE.
Christine Horrocks, Academy Principal, said “Emma is one of our leading athletes. We are following her achievements with pride and she is a great role model to all students, through her commitment and dedication to the sport.
“We know that Emma dreams of representing her country at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, and it would be great to see a local girl competing on the world stage in five years’ time.”
