The Elizabethan recently sent two teams to participate in the Bassetlaw Secondary Schools Boccia Tournament. Boccia was originally introduced as a Paralympic sport in 1984, but has been gaining popularity in schools among both disabled and able bodied students.
We now only have 9 places available on the Edinburgh trip 17 - 20 July 2017. The trip is open to all students in Years 7 to 9, so in order to secure a place, please complete the reply slip (see letter below) and return it with your deposit (£100) to the finance office by Wednesday 24 May. This is a visit not to be missed...
Following their success at the Worksop Festival last month, the Academy Choir returned from the Worksop Festival Winners’ Concert at The Crossing, Worksop, where they gave another awesome performance of Viva La Vida and For Good from the hit musical Wicked.
The Elizabethan Academy’s Year 9 Debating Team have returned victorious from the regional heats of the national “Up For Debate” competition.
The team, consisting of Christopher Wass, Daisie Ellis and Connor Bell, along with members of the debating club, had to prepare two topics for the heats, which were held at Manchester Grammar School last Thursday: whether music and videos with discriminatory lyrics should be banned and whether international adoption should be illegal.
