Exams

It's been a very busy week for Yr9/Yr10/Yr11 who have all had exams - English/maths/science. We have some more this week in history and geography. Students have arrived on time, well prepared and focused. So, here's hoping for an excellent set of results which will be available in March. Stay focused, all of you.

Bassetlaw Games 2012

We were very proud to be asked to organise the launch of the Bassetlaw Games last Friday. The cross-country event in Ordsall was well supported by the local schools. Well done to everyone who completed the course which is a real test of endurance rather than speed. Our students ran well and there were excellent examples of team work. The Yr10/11 boys ran a splendid race, with 5 of the 8 top places going to EHS...so we will be represented in the County race in February. Many thanks to the PE staff, especially Mrs Barnes and Mrs Clark for their organisation.

Yr13 Manchester Trip

In December our year 13 Geography classes went on a trip to Manchester as part of our A-Level course.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to all parents/carers and visitors to our website. We have had an excellent start to 2012 which promises to focus on excellence in sport in the UK. We have been given a national award for Leadership in sport, maths and modern languages. My thanks go to the number of staff who put in extra hours to develop the leadership skills of young people in our school. I am always impressed when I watch teenagers lead lessons for younger students - they do so with great maturity and a strong spirit of collaboration. Well done to every one of you involved.
