Course Outline: 

The OCR GCSE Business Studies course has 2 examinations, one is theory driven and tests the knowledge of Business Ownership and Human Resources elements.  The second examination is a pre-released case study where students need to link theory to a case study to develop their understanding.  They have a controlled assessment where they are given a business scenario and 3 tasks to complete about that business.. Students learn how businesses are created, their aims and the market they operate in. They also learn how the Government influences business and how the government controls the economy.

Teaching and Learning Style: 

The course teaches you about the economy and world we live in, how businesses make money and all the different aspects of business. It's really interesting and fun. Students will take part in a range of learning activities including: PowerPoint presentations, group and paired work, individual research tasks, structured responses to exam questions and context based questions.

Assessment: 

First examination (25%) Second examination (50%) and one controlled assessment (25%).
