The Elizabethan Academy Celebrates Successful Careers and Further Education Event

The Elizabethan Academy is delighted to announce the successful conclusion of its Careers and Further Education Fair, held on 18th March. The event, which featured over 35 information stands, brought together a diverse range of employers, representatives from the uniformed services, apprenticeship providers, sixth form educators, and representatives from colleges and universities. This vibrant showcase provided students with a unique opportunity to explore various career pathways and gain valuable insights into their future educational and professional prospects.

The event was a resounding success, engaging students at all levels across the school and offering them the chance to interact directly with industry professionals and higher education ambassadors. It reinforced the Academy’s commitment to holistic student careers development and preparing young people for the challenges of the future.

Tom Crowther, Principal, commented:

"It was fantastic to see our students engaging with such a wide variety of career and education opportunities. Events like this are crucial in broadening horizons and inspiring the next generation to aim high and pursue their ambitions with confidence"

Lee Dainty, Senior Assistant Principal and Careers Lead, stated:

"Supporting our young people in exploring careers is vital to their future success. I am thrilled that students from Years 7 to 13 had the opportunity today to discover their strengths, develop key communication skills and start to think about their own career aspirations.  A huge thank you to all the providers who attended today too"

John Alexander, Lead Teacher for Careers, added:

"Wow, what a day!  I was worried that our younger students might have found the event a little overwhelming but were really engaged; visited all the providers and asked challenging questions.  I had some fabulous conversations with our older students about career and education pathways and I was impressed by their knowledge and maturity.  Students who were undecided about their future were exploring potential employment avenues and those who had clear ideas were devising back-up plans and investigating alternatives.  A ‘buzz’ of wonder and excitement filled the room.  Thank you to the students who were engaged and impeccably well behaved and to everyone who supported this event and helped to make it a resounding success"

This Careers Event is a testament to The Elizabethan Academy’s ongoing commitment to creating a supportive, innovative learning environment that equips students with the skills and knowledge necessary to navigate their future career journeys. The engagement and enthusiasm demonstrated by our students throughout the day highlights the importance of such initiatives in enhancing career readiness.
